The Magical Season Project
When Hurricane Ida hit New Orleans in 2021, Tulane Football was relocated to Birmingham, AL. As a diver for Tulane Swim & Dive at the time, my team was also relocated, and it was great to get to know some of the football players. The bonds they formed with each other during that difficult 2-win season led to one of the best seasons ever for the Green Wave in 2022. They wowed us in the regular season, won the AAC Championship, upset USC in the Cotton Bowl, finished 12-2, and were ranked 9th in the nation!
I am now a junior at Tulane majoring in Studio Art. Like everyone else, I got caught up in the excitement that our team brought to the Tulane community, cheering them on week after week. During winter break, I painted this tribute to the season, the most historic turnaround in college football. The original is oil on canvas and was inspired by various references that captured the feeling of this truly magical season.
I will be donating a portion of sales from this project to Covenant House, an amazing non-profit organization that provides support and services to homeless youth in New Orleans.
Thank you for your support and I hope you will enjoy!
